It's alright Ma (i'm only screaming)

Dry scratched skin like rough old bark
Sweating limbs in cabin yard
Use eyes soaked black deprived of sleep
Watch sadness rise from morning feet
A smokey foam a mushroom cloud
Not one lie could make you proud
Throws bricks of freedom to windows of the mind which thinks it

Crying mirrors to history's hymn
image of tears and thoughts of sin
And rivers of light below my legs
The holes I use to see it dead
Filled with pain and blocked in black
The tongue springs out but words don't catch
Nothing but the bitter glare of a bitter man who sits twisted in a ball of string

Black whips crack across black skin
The years of hate to hearts of tin
In a hollow tone rips through our bones
Where crying breathes in trojan groans
Pregnant with our oil lives
In leather fumes they sweat and die
Trying to fix my way through a maze in the stone black darkness

So don't fear
If you hear
A foreign sound, to your ear
It's alright Ma, I'm only sighing

Blood on blood a splash on splash
Of flesh on flesh tied chained to past
My heart sends care and thoughts of love
While mind bleeds horror on rocks chipped rough
By diamond eye stoked sharp in fire
Of poverty 's burn the age old liar
Shoots dreams of kissing riches lips
Darts fire into the serpents bid
Our lives washed wet on the shore of ignorance

Colours washed grey in wheels of pain
Blood no more than mere chance I'd say
A tie to past no road ahead
Questions turn my roll in bed
As leaves dry wafer crispy thin
The branches sulk no warmth to win
Air which cries in relenting dark
No ray no god ahead to march
And they expect me to simply sit back sit down and take it

Blue canvas races up above
They try they say come push come shove
You got to give all ears and love
To wheels you ride no smooth all rough
And sit down in 20 years some time
A branch too large you're selfish crime
Your smiles they slowly ground to dust
Creatures of sin of hollow lust
You're trunk all chipped and beaten but you just can't move it

And the rules of the road, have been lodged
It's only people's games
That you gotta dodge
But it's alright Ma, I can make it

And people on the cobbled stone
Stand dazed stand drunk in drawling moan
Too slow and weak to see it through
They spun by neon yellow hue
Seared plastered to the city streets
Hanging knife turns mouth to meat
A troll points laughs and dances shouts
We cry at scripture plans thrown out
The tombstone trembles with screams of the living

And souls that shake and rail with pain
Sit silent on the rat race train
Crushed to razor bits of bone
No heart just thorny stares and prone
To stamping on the final nail
And smiling while you writhe and wail
The engine burns and the wheels keep rolling

The people sign with pens and take
Their freedom to the men they hate
The ocean rocks a wave on wave
A blanket chain no room to rave
Ahead atop the daily coil
That drowns and soaks them in a boil
No flash to eye no bloom to soil
A fire smokes from tired oil
Runs down from skin and onto shoe
The stain a waiting brimming clue
The flower hammered to a curl of metal scrapping

But I mean no harm, or put fault
On anyone, who lives in a vault
But it's alright Ma, if I can't please him

Pulse drums quick the mind baptised
In scenes deluding school boy eyes
Roll up high to tower heights
The clouded land not wrong nor right
Where billboards trace our pointing reach
To blindfold love and silent feet
Which hear no thunder see no rubble
And rest in muted sugar bubble
Frozen keys are no longer turning

The blade is drawn the lines are seared
Beaten heart far from their ears
Your screams fall short and kiss the roads
Where you tried and cried to mend the code
And dust and dirt sets on your lips
Stolen words a sound now clipped
Rays of light snatched out and turned to stone

The glow fades out to leave you bare
Locked and nailed bones to the chair
You try to stand you to try to run
The pressure boils at the banging gun
Where men and women order you to sit
An eagle cries the hammered writ
Of eyes of order of fortune forth
A storm descends to cull all worth
Which once lived and fizzed in the deepest chambers

Although the masters, make the rules
For the wise men, and the fools
I got nothing Ma, to live up to

Bitter screams I hear below
Screech gusty winds the torn up road
Sleeps tattered by my blackened shoe
A leap to climb to start anew
And hands creep up to drag you down
Streaked in blood there is no sound
I smile and try to dance between
Those fingertips and crushing screens
The battle rages on outside
Within a roar dissolves the cries
Your wings held by a merchant in the window selling

I walk a road condensed in rain
Grey vaulted clouds now lock the pain
But a corner on the pale sky
Glows dim and faint with the sun's eye
A snatch of truth soaked torn and scrunched
Alive and well despite the punch
Of their sprawling lies and tiresome hate
I bite the wind spy roots of fate
A heart in the rubble crust somehow still glowing

I chew and vomit up the bait
And realise the storm must wait
If we won't climb a deadly tower
To topple thunder and godly power
Then I'll just go pick up my spade
And crunch the ground and make my cave
To burn and scream a hymn of truth
Which infects the air and cracks a tooth
And maybe fall and maybe rise oh my friends climb down and join me

And if my thought-dreams, could be seen
They'd probably put my head, in a guillotine
But it's alright Ma, it's life and life only
